Michael Douek is Professor of Surgical Oncology and Breast Surgeon at King's College London and Honorary Consultant Surgeon at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital. He has a research interest in developing and evaluating novel techniques for cancer surgery. Besides developing a novel magnetic technique for sentinel node biopsy and lesion localization, he is one of the pioneers of intra-operative radiotherapy for breast cancer and set up the first prospective trial of a biological device for breast implant reconstuction (POBRAD Trial of Acellular Dermal Matrix). He is currently Chief Investigator of a number of internationl clinical trials. In 2015, he was awarded a prestigious Hunterian Professorship by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
