Michael David Weiss MD

Michael Weiss, M.D., is a neurologist who specializes in neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Weiss is director of the Neuromuscular Diseases Division of the Department of Neurology at the University of Washington, Seattle. He is also director of the EMG Laboratory and director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Care Center, both located at UW Medical Center.

Dr. Weiss received his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, New York. He completed specialty training in neurology at Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, D.C., and in neuromuscular disease at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He is board-certified in neurology, with added qualifications in neuromuscular medicine, and in electrodiagnostic medicine.

Dr. Weiss conducts clinical research on the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, inflammatory myopathies, myasthenia gravis, multifocal motor neuropathy and chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy. Dr. Weiss is a UW professor of neurology.
