Dr. Michael Fiore is a clinically active, tenured professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin. He founded and has served as director of the University of Wisconsin Center for Tobacco Research and Intervention since 1992. Dr. Fiore served as chair of the panel that produced the U.S. Public Health Service Clinical Practice Guideline: Treating Tobacco Use and Dependence. His chief focus has been to develop strategies to prompt clinicians and systems to help patients quit tobacco use.
