Micha Sam Brickman Reardon, Ph.D. is a post-doctoral MD/Ph.D. student studying regenerative lung engineering in the laboratory of Laura E. Niklason (Biomedical Engineering and Anesthesiology). He is currently using single-cell data to explore cell-cell signaling in the mammalian alveolus, with the ultimate intent of devising a minimal cellular community that can be used to reverse-engineer pulmonary tissue for clinical transplant. Prior to his MD/Ph.D. training, he studied Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he was a Draper Fellow and worked on tissue micro-fabrication techniques in the laboratories of Linda Griffith (Bioengineering) and Paula Hammond (Chemical Engineering). Prior to MIT, he studied Biomedical Engineering and the History of Art at Yale University and the University of Cambridge. he plays the cello as part of the Yale Medical Symphony Orchestra and enjoys finding time to be outdoors and near water as much as possible.
