Dr. Merle Diamond completed her bachelor’s degree with honors at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and completed her Doctorate of Medicine from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and was a Fellow of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Doctor Diamond is a Fellow of the Chicago Institute of Medicine. She joined Diamond Headache Clinic in 1989 and is currently the president and managing director of all Diamond Headache Clinic locations as well as AMITA St. Joseph Diamond Headache Clinic Inpatient Unit.

Dr. Diamond is a Clinical Assistant Professor at, the Department of Medicine, Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science/ Chicago Medical School. Also, she is a Lecturer in the Department of Medicine (Neurology) at Loyola University of Chicago’s Stritch School of Medicine. 

She has received numerous awards, most recently she was named Top Doctor in Chicago Magazine 2021. She has also contributed to over 70 articles in the professional medical literature community and has co-authored several headache textbooks. Dr. Merle Diamond’s goal, above all, is to restore normal function in her patients. Teach them that they may still have headaches, but they will have the ability to manage attacks when they get them and still live their life to the fullest.
