Dr. Pulitzer earned her medical degree at MCP-Hahnemann School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, followed by a medical internship at Jefferson Medical College, pathology residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and dermatopathology fellowship at New York University. She was an Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pathology at New York University before joining the faculty in the Department of Pathology of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2008 where she is now an Associate attending pathologist. She also holds a joint appointment at Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

Her primary research interest is in the area of cutaneous lymphoma, with additional expertise in Merkel cell carcinoma, adnexal tumors, and melanoma. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and multiple book chapters, mostly on cutaneous lymphomas. She is a well-regarded teacher and has given multiple CME courses at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, American Society of Dermatopathology, International Society of Dermatopathology and the American Academy of Dermatology.
