Biography :
Maxime Cannesson, MD, PhD, is Associate Professor of Anesthesiology, Director of Clinical Research, and Director of Cardiac Anesthesia in the Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at the University of California Irvine, School of Medicine. Dr. Cannesson's research focuses on testing the impact of perioperative hemodynamic optimization on postoperative outcome. He is leading research projects evaluating new hemodynamic monitors and new hemodynamic indices in the perioperative period. One of his main interests is the relationship between global and regional circulations. He is also developing automated anesthesia systems.
Dr. Cannesson received his medical degree from Denis Diderot University, Saint Louis Hospital in Paris, France. He completed his Anesthesiology residency at Claude Bernard University, Hospices Civils de Lyon Medical Center in Lyon, France. Dr. Cannesson received his PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology from Claude Bernard University in Lyon.
