Dr Tanaka studied Medicine at Kurume University and graduated in 1979, and studied as a research fellowship Kurume University School of Medicine, and received his PhD degree in Medical Science in 1989. He was a director at the Dept. of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Kurume University Medical Center, and is now a director of Hepatology and Clinical Research Center, Yokokura hospital since 2012. His profession is a diagnosis and treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). He started his carrier of percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) from 1985, intra-arterial embolo-therapy and chemotherapy from 1989, and radiofrequency ablation from 1998.
