Dr. Mary Frances McMullin trained in hematology and general medicine in Belfast and then at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital. She was appointed senior lecturer in 1991 and has been an active researcher and clinician in hematological malignancy in Belfast since that time. Her main research interests are in myeloproliferative disorders, acute myeloid leukemia, and chronic myeloid leukemia. She has an active clinical practice and collaborates with scientists looking at the pathogenesis of myeloproliferative disorders and in particular investigations of patients with idiopathic erythrocytosis. She also works on the pathogenesis and treatment of Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia.
