Martee L. Hensley MD

Martee is a board-certified medical oncologist. Her clinical practice is focused on the care of women with gynecologic cancers, and she have a special expertise in treating uterine sarcomas. She have been on the attending staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering since 1998, working as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to caring for women with these diseases.
Her clinical research is focused on developing novel treatments and improving treatment strategies for women with recurrent ovarian cancer or uterine sarcomas (leiomyosarcoma, carcinosarcoma, high grade undifferentiated sarcomas, endometrial stromal sarcomas, and others. She serve as principal investigator for several national and international research studies in these areas. She also have an interest in patient-reported outcomes, including quality-of-life issues, related to cancer treatments.
In addition to serving on committees of the Gynecologic Oncology Group devoted to the research of health-related outcomes and novel drug development for uterine cancers, she is an active in the Sarcoma Alliance for Research through Collaboration. This consortium facilitates research collaborations among sarcoma specialists.
She earned her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine, completed residency and oncology fellowship training at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, and completed a master’s degree in epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.
