Dr. Abzug has been with the CHIP team since 1992. He earned his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1982. In 1985 he completed pediatric residency training at the University of Rochester, including a Chief Residency in the Pediatric Ambulatory Department of Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, New York. Following pediatric infectious diseases fellowship training at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Dr. Abzug joined the faculty of Children’s Hospital Colorado and the department of Pediatrics Section of Infectious Diseases in 1988. He co-founded and served as Medical Director of the Clinical Trials Organization at Children’s Hospital Colorado from 1997-2011. He served as interim Section Head of Pediatric Infectious Diseases from 2001-2002. He is currently the Associate Vice Chair for Academic Affairs of the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics.
