Marie Murphy BA, MSc, PhD

Professor Murphy completed her undergraduate degree at Ulster University and received her MSc and PhD from Loughborough University. She is a fellow of the American Colleges of Sports Medicine, of BASES, and of the Higher Education Authority.

She was a member of the expert scientific panel behind the 2011 UK Physical Activity Guidelines 'Start Active Stay Active', and of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 sub-panel for Sport & Exercise Sciences, Leisure and Tourism. Professor Murphy has held public appointments on the General Teaching Council Northern Ireland, the board of Sport Northern Ireland, and the Sports Institute for Northern Ireland.
