Dr. Marci A. Goolsby is an assistant attending physician at HSS in the Women's Sports Medicine Center and assistant professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. She is board certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. She currently serves as team physician for the WNBA New York Liberty women’s professional basketball team and the US Olympic Biathlon team. She is a graduate of Texas A&M University Health Science Center College of Medicine, completed her residency in family medicine at UCLA, and remained at UCLA to complete her fellowship in sports medicine. At UCLA, she worked with the women’s basketball, women's volleyball, softball, and baseball teams.

Dr. Goolsby treats patients for a variety of musculoskeletal complaints seeking nonsurgical care. Her main interests are stress fractures and the female athlete triad, which are the related components of nutrition-exercise balance, menstrual function, and bone health. As a prior collegiate basketball player with a continued active lifestyle, she understands what it means to be an athlete and focuses on safe return to activity for her patient. She also has a special interest in the care of basketball players, runners, and triathletes.

She has authored and contributed to several scientific publications, chapters, medical journal reviews, and articles. She has held several education roles and she is currently part of the editorial board for Current Sports Medicine Reports and co-chair of Exercise as Medicine curriculum for Weill Cornell Medical College. Additionally, she has held multiple roles on the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM) as program chair for the 2016 Annual Meeting and is currently on the board of directors as chair of the membership committee and co-chair of the annual meeting advisory subcommittee. She regularly teaches students, residents, and fellows as well as being a mentor and coordinator for the Women’s Sports Medicine Center summer internship program.
