Marcel Tanner PhD, MPH

Marcel Tanner obtained a PhD in medical biology from the University of Basel and a MPH from the University of London. He is the President of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) since 2016. Previously – from 1997 until June 2015 – he was the Director of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. He is Professor and Chair of Epidemiology and Medical Parasitology at the University of Basel and at the Federal Institute of Technology.
