Mahmoud A. Ammar PharmD, MBA, BCPS, BCCCP, FCCM

Dr. Mahmoud Ammar, PharmD, FCCM, BCPS, BCCCP, MBA, is a senior critical care pharmacy leader and residency program director at Yale New Haven Hospital. He currently serves as Senior Critical Care Pharmacy Specialist and Director of the PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency Program, where he oversees advanced clinical training, curriculum development, and mentorship of pharmacy residents specializing in critical care. He previously served as Coordinator of the PGY-2 Critical Care Residency Program, further strengthening the structure and academic rigor of the program.

Dr. Ammar brings extensive experience in critical care practice, having previously served as a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist at the Cleveland Clinic. His clinical expertise spans the management of complex critically ill patients, interprofessional collaboration in high-acuity settings, and the advancement of evidence-based pharmacotherapy in the intensive care unit.

He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from Purdue University and completed an Executive MBA in Healthcare at the Yale School of Management, equipping him with both clinical and strategic leadership expertise. Dr. Ammar is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS) and Board Certified Critical Care Pharmacist (BCCCP), and he has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Critical Care Medicine (FCCM). Through his combined clinical, academic, and administrative roles, he is dedicated to advancing critical care pharmacy practice, leadership development, and patient-centered outcomes in the ICU setting.
