Maciej Banach MD, PhD, FAHA, FESC, FASA, FSGC, FRSPH

Dr. Maciej Banach is a Full Professor of Cardiology, President of Polish Mother's Memorial Hospital - Research Institute, Head of the Department of Hypertension at the Medical University of Lodz, and a Professor of Cardiology/Consultant in the Department of Nephrology, Hypertension, and Family Medicine, Chair of Nephrology and Hypertension, at WAM University Hospital in Lodz, Poland. He is a President of the Polish Lipid Association (PoLA) and the Lodz Chapter of the Polish Society of Hypertension (PSH).

Between 2010-2012 he was an Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education responsible for the financing of science, cooperation with the European Union, and bilateral international collaborations.

Dr. Banach has published more than 450 original articles, reviews, editorials, book chapters, and electronic publications in the field of hypertension, dyslipidemias, cardiology, nephrology, cardiac surgery, and risk stratification. He is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Archives of Medical Science (IF=1.067), Cardiovascular Continuum, and Deputy Editor of Thyroid Research. He is the editor or author of 25 books.
