Lucia M. Novak MSN, CRNP, ANP-BC, BC-ADM, FAANP

Lucia M. Novak, MSN, CRNP, ANP-BC, BC-ADM, FAANP, is the President and Founder of Diabesity LLC, a consultancy focused on advancing clinical leadership in diabetes and obesity care. Board certified in both Adult Health and Advanced Diabetes Management, she brings over 30 years of clinical expertise as a nationally recognized consultant, speaker, author, educator, and advocate.

Her passion for diabetes care began in 2000 with the establishment of the Diabetes Institute at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Her nearly three decades of nursing experience include distinguished service as a Commissioned Officer of the United States Army Nurse Corps. Of all her contributions, she is most proud of providing the highest quality healthcare to the men and women of the U.S. Military.

In 2020, she brought her expertise to Capital Diabetes & Endocrine Associates in Silver Spring, Maryland, as Co-Executive Director of the Capital Health & Metabolic Center, a program created specifically for the specialized treatment of diabetes and obesity management.

In recent years, Lucia has extended her focus to obesity medicine, earning the Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Medicine from the Obesity Medicine Association. She is recognized as one of the foremost nurse practitioners in the United States specializing in diabetes, obesity, and endocrine care, including cardiovascular and kidney disease.
