Lisa trained in public health at the University of Mälardalen and in research methods at Örebro in Sweden before coming to the UK in 2011 to study towards an MSc in Public Health at the University of Chester. Following her MSc, Lisa secured a funded Ph.D. studentship at Liverpool John Moores University. Lisa is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Public Health Institute at Liverpool John Moores University.
Lisa has previously worked at the University of Stirling as a Research Assistant on a number of projects relating to framing of policy arguments around alcohol, remuneration of screening and brief interventions, and perceptions around pregnancy drinking guidelines in England and Scotland. Since 2016, Lisa has worked as a consultant for the WHO Regional Office for Europe on alcohol as well as prison health. Lisa joined the University of Edinburgh in September 2017 to work on an Alcohol Research UK-funded project on recovery.
