Lindsay King MD, MPH

Dr. Lindsay Yount King is a transplant hepatologist and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology at Duke University School of Medicine. She is a recognized leader in liver transplantation and advanced liver disease care, currently serving as Medical Director of the Duke Adult Liver Transplant Program and Duke Transplant Clinic.

Dr. King specializes in the management of chronic liver diseases, including autoimmune and cholestatic liver disorders, and provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of liver disease—from early diagnosis through transplantation and long-term post-transplant management. She earned her MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She went on to complete fellowships in gastroenterology and transplant hepatology at Massachusetts General Hospital, and also obtained a Master of Public Health from Harvard University.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. King is actively involved in medical education and research, with publications focusing on liver transplantation outcomes and autoimmune liver diseases. She has held leadership roles in training programs, including serving as Program Director of the Advanced Transplant Hepatology Fellowship. Dr. King is known for her multidisciplinary approach to patient care and her commitment to improving access to liver transplantation services. Through clinical innovation, research, and mentorship, she continues to advance the field of hepatology and enhance outcomes for patients with complex liver disease.
