Leigh Ann Carter Beard MD

Dr. Carter studied medicine at the University of Louisville School of Medicine acquiring the Doctor of Medicine Degree in 2000. While at the University of Louisville she completed an additional year of research in Contact Dermatitis which resulted in multiple publications in the field.

Dr. Carter completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Louisville. She completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Dermatology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She received the "Most Outstanding Resident Award," and the "Resident Teaching Award." After graduation from residency, she also completed a fellowship in the sub-specialty of dermatopathology.

Dr. Carter then completed an Advanced Clinical Dermatology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota with studies and research in Skin Allergies and Contact Dermatitis. Dr. Carter is board-certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology and is board-certified in dermatopathology by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology.
