Dr. Lee-lynn Chen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at UCSF covering the Parnassus/Mount Zion campuses. He earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester. He completed his Anesthesia residency and critical care fellowship at UCSF. Since joining the faculty, he has focused his efforts on medical student and resident education as well as quality improvement and patient safety. Besides leading the educational efforts at Mount Zion hospital, he is intricately involved in simulation courses ranging from teaching basic skills to more advanced crisis resource management skills. In addition, Dr. Chen is the lead physician developing a peri-operative surgical home at UCSF. Over the past year, he has led the colorectal enhanced recovery pathway efforts at Mount Zion. Recently, other services including gyn/oncology and urology have expressed interest and have started similar enhanced recovery pathways for their divisions.
