Leandro C. Zacharias MD, PhD

Dr. Leandro is a clinical and surgical retina specialist from Sao Paulo- Brazil. His daily clinical practice includes patients with macular diseases, as well as complex surgical cases such as diabetics or retinal detachment cases.

Dr. Leandro Zacharias received his medical degree from the University of Sao Paulo (USP) in 2000. In 2003, he concluded the residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Sao Paulo General Hospital, where he was chief of residents in 2004. Between 2006 and 2008, he did his surgical fellowship in Retina and Vitreous at the University of California- Irvine (UCI) under the supervision of Dr Baruch Kuppermann, where he took part on several research projects and also surgical and clinical activities, including clinical trials, intravitreal injections, and surgical animal models.
