Lawrence Alexander Garcia, MD, serves as the director of interventional cardiology and co-director of vascular medicine at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. He is an internationally recognized leading expert for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease and travels worldwide to speak on various vascular medicine topics. He has served as the principal investigator on several national and international trials evaluating therapies in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease. His research has been published in numerous manuscripts and book chapters.

Dr. Garcia joined St. Elizabeth’s from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston where he served in a variety of roles, including the director of the Peripheral Cardiovascular Program and Peripheral Interventions. He earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, performed his residency in medicine at UT-Southwestern, Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, and his fellowship in interventional cardiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
