Laura has been the consumer engagement manager at Capital and Coast DHB for around two years. Prior to that, she worked at the Health Quality & Safety Commission, bringing a consumer perspective to the patient deterioration program. During her time at the Commission, she championed co-design methodology under the guidance of Dr. Lynne Maher, innovation and improvement clinical director at Ko Awatea. Laura took her enthusiasm for both co-design and the Korero mai project to her role at Capital & Coast DHB and was lucky enough to be able to support that work. Laura has worked in health for around 20 years and is committed to the concept of health staff and consumers working together to make health systems better for everyone.
