Laura Christian Michaelis MD

Dr. Laura C. Michaelis is a clinician and clinical researcher at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. She trained at Harvard Medical School, and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and did her fellowship at the University of Chicago. Her practice includes the care of individuals with acute and chronic leukemias. Her research interest is in the application of new drugs for myeloproliferative neoplasms and older individuals with leukemia.

Dr. Laura is very involved with the American Society of Hematology and is interested in advocating for public policy that supports individuals with rare diseases. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Michaelis worked for nine years as a newspaper and magazine reporter. Dr. Michaelis discloses that she has served on advisory boards for Incyte Corporation, CTI BioPharma, Pfizer, and Celgene Pharmaceuticals.
