Larry K. Pickering, MD, FAAP Senior Advisor to the Director National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Larry K. Pickering, MD, is senior advisor to the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Executive Secretary of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and Professor of Pediatrics in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric infectious diseases by the American Board of Pediatrics. He received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of Medicine, and subsequently completed his pediatric residency and infectious diseases fellowship at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
