Klas Sjoberg

Klas Sjöberg is a specialist and senior consultant in internal medicine and in gastroenterology and hepatology. The main clinical interests are in gastrointestinal inflammation and nutrition. Klas is a former head of the Dept of Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Skåne University Hospital, Malmö, Sweden. Klas is also responsible for organising the education in internal medicine for the students at the Faculty of Medicine and Odontology. The research is aiming at a better understanding of the pathogenetic mechanisms behind the development of autoimmune diseases in the gastrointestinal tract, such as inflammatory bowel disease and microscopic colitis. Klas has been a scientific secretary in the Swedish Society of Internal Medicine and is since 2104 a member of the Executive Committee of the International Society of Internal Medicine.
