Kimia Honarmand MD, MSc, FRCPC

Dr. Kimia Honarmand, MD, MSc, FRCPC, is a Canadian critical care physician, clinical epidemiologist, and researcher who serves as the Physician Lead of the Long Stay Critical Care Program at Mackenzie Health in Ontario, where she directs specialized care focused on ventilator weaning and recovery for patients with prolonged critical illness. She also holds leadership roles in medical research at Mackenzie Health, helping establish research infrastructure and contributing to evidence-based clinical guidelines.

Dr. Honarmand earned her medical degree from McMaster University, is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Critical Care Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and completed additional graduate training with a Master of Science in clinical epidemiology. Her academic work includes authorship of more than 40 peer-reviewed publications and active involvement in developing international practice guidelines, particularly in critical care and clinical deterioration recognition. Her research and clinical interests span long-term outcomes after critical illness, systematic reviews, and knowledge translation to improve patient care and health system performance. Fluent in English and Farsi, Dr. Honarmand balances front-line intensive care practice with scholarship that advances understanding of complex critical care challenges.
