"Dr. Layton completed radiology residency training at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health, and then completed fellowships in both diagnostic and interventional neuroradiology at the Mayo Clinic. His training at these world-class facilities has inspired his interest in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the brain, spine, head and neck. Although his practice expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of neurological disorders and treatments, he has super-subspecialized training in the minimally invasive treatments of cerebrovascular disease and spinal disorders. In particular, Dr. Layton has done extensive research and training for brain aneurysms, vascular malformations, strokes, carotid stenosis and compression fractures of the spine. He has served on multiple committees focused on the advancement of diagnosis and treatment for stroke patients. He believes firmly in the principle of placing the patients' needs first. Through his work on multiple local and national stroke committees, he has developed a critical understanding about the relationship between excellent patient outcomes and the need for medical treatment at focused high volume medical centers."
