Dr. Kelly Wanamaker is an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Massachusetts-Chan Medical School. As a cardiac surgeon, Dr. Wanamaker views surgery as a commitment and partnership and her treatment philosophy rests on a foundation of empathy. She encourages questions and works to understand each patient’s background and expectations, adjusting her approach to provide individually tailored care.
With a focus on treating coronary artery disease, valvular problems, aortic aneurysms, myxomas, and atrial fibrillation, she is inspired by leaders in the field and by the entire Baystate team that provides the highest level of care for complex cardiac surgical patients. She serves on the Standards and Ethics Committee for Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgical Society and in 2021 was awarded an AATS fellowship for advanced heart valve surgery.
