Keira Park Mason MD

Dr. Keira P. Mason was the Director of Radiology Anesthesia at Boston Children's Hospital for 15 years. She is the former Vice President of the World Society of Intravenous Anesthesia. Dr. Mason is the editor of the textbook “Pediatric Sedation Outside the OR” which is now in its 2nd edition, and more than double in size and chapters from the first edition. It has been called the "bible" of sedation by the British Journal of Anesthesia and a "must have" by JAMA. Keira started the “Pediatric Sedation Outside the Operating Room” CME conference over 10 years ago, an annual meeting attended by international and national faculty and attendees from multi- specialties. She just finished her third book “Total Intravenous Anesthesia and Target Controlled Infusions” as co-editor.

Dr. Mason has been invited and participated in expert panels and task forces for sedation and anesthesia which include the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), ASA (American Society of Anesthesiologists), and AAPD (American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry). She has published over 90 papers and chapters on sedation, safety, dexmedetomidine, and anesthesia outside the operating room. Dr. Mason is on the editorial board of the British Journal of Anesthesia.
