Katrina Korhonen, MD is a current Breast Imaging Fellow at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. We are very excited to welcome her to our faculty this July as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Radiology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon her faculty posting, Katrina will have completed her diagnostic radiology residency as well as fellowships in both nuclear medicine and breast imaging at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Her clinical work encompasses an equal split between breast imaging and nuclear medicine. She will serve as the director of resident education for the division of nuclear medicine as well as the liaison for medical student education for the division of breast imaging. Dr. Korhonen's research interests focus on digital breast tomosynthesis as well as molecular breast imaging, with a particular interest in studying the role of 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with metastatic breast cancer.
