Kathryn Abel MA, MBBS, FRCP, FRCPsych, PhD

Kathryn Abel is Professor of Psychological Medicine and Reproductive Psychiatry & Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at the University of Manchester. She trained in Oxford and London and undertook her psychiatry training at the Institute of Psychiatry from 1991-2001 where she held a 5 year MRC Research Fellowship. She is an expert on women’s mental health focussing on maternal condition and its effects on offspring outcomes, gender sensitive service development, and reproductive psychiatry involving mothers, maternal mental illness and their children.
