Karl Doghramji MD, FAASM, DFAPA

Dr. Karl Doghramji is Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry, Human Behavior, and Neurology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. A distinguished sleep medicine specialist and biological psychiatrist, he has built a national reputation as a clinician, researcher, educator, and physician leader. He has also served as Medical Director of the Jefferson Sleep Disorders Center at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Program Director of its Sleep Medicine Fellowship.

Dr. Doghramji's academic and clinical work encompasses sleep medicine, psychiatry, neurology, and interdisciplinary care. He has received 45 research grants and authored more than 200 academic publications, including peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, electronic media publications, and books. He has also presented extensively at national and international scientific meetings and served as a reviewer for numerous medical journals.

An active member of professional organizations, Dr. Doghramji has held committee positions with the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and served as an examiner for the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. His professional distinctions include election to the American College of Psychiatrists, Fellowship in the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and Distinguished Life Fellowship in the American Psychiatric Association. He has also received repeated recognition among Philadelphia's top doctors.

Dr. Doghramji earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, now Sidney Kimmel Medical College. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Presbyterian-University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, a psychiatry residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and a fellowship in sleep medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York.
