Joshua Pevnick, MD, MSHS, is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. He has a secondary Associate Professor appointment and serves as the Co-Director of the Division of Informatics in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Pevnick is also the Director of the Clinical Informatics Fellowship Subspecialty Training Program. Dr.Pevnick is board-certified in internal medicine and clinical informatics (inaugural class). In conjunction with his fellowship in health services research, Dr.Pevnick was awarded the HIMSS Foundation Master's Scholarship and earned a master's degree in health services from UCLA.

As a health services researcher, Dr. Pevnick studies health information technology, with areas of focus including medication management, inter-physician communication, patient-generated data, health information exchange, and clinical decision support. Funding from NIH, foundations, philanthropic, and industry sources supports his current work, including forthcoming trials in medication management and an artificial intelligence application to aid physicians with diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Pevnick also mentors several NIH-funded trainees and serves as the Curriculum Director for the Cedars-Sinai Clinical Scholars program and the Career Enhancement Core for the Cedars-Sinai Specialized Center of Research Excellence on Sex Differences.
