Dr. Joseph Saseen, PharmD, BCPS, BCACP, CLS, is Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, and Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Additionally, he is a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Family Medicine and Program Director of the University of Colorado’s PGY2 Ambulatory Care/Family Medicine residency program. Dr. Saseen is a Board-Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist, Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist, and Clinical Lipid Specialist.
He received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo and completed his fellowship in ambulatory care research at the University of Illinois at Chicago and University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. His primary research is related to the pharmacotherapy of chronic diseases such as hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Dr. Saseen has several publications related to cardiovascular management and serves as Editor of the handbook Pharmacists Guide to Lipid Management. He is a fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and National Lipid Association, where he serves on the board of directors. Dr. Saseen has achieved several honors from the University of Colorado, including the Chancellor’s and President’s teaching awards.
