This conference provides 15 contact hours  of pharmacy CE and  (1.5 CEU) of live AAFP/ AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, ACPE and pharmacology CE/CME credit over three days.

Educational Sessions:

Session 1: Tuesday December 9, 2025 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Statins and Beyond: Innovations in Dyslipidemia Therapy and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction  

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:  

1. Apply recommendations from the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines for treatment of patients with hypercholesterolemia, chronic coronary disease, and peripheral arterial disease.,

2. Apply the treatment approaches recommended in the 2018 ACC-AHA cholesterol guideline to patients with hypercholesterolemia.

3. Interpret recommendations from the ACC Expert Consensus Decision Pathway for nonstatins and treatment of hypertriglyceridemia.

4. Interpret the evidence and role in therapy of nonstatin medications in the treatment of hypercholesterolemia.

5. Demonstrate the evidence and guideline recommendations supporting the use of antiplatelet and antithrombotic therapy for secondary prevention patients.

6. Evaluate evidence-based drug therapy recommendations for the management of patients with chronic coronary disease and peripheral arterial disease.

7. Evaluate the role of colchicine in the prevention of CV events.

8. Create treatment plans that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Session 2: Wednesday December 10, 2025 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Pressure Points: Advancing Hypertension Care and Cardiovascular Risk Reduction through Guidelines, Risk Reduction, and Emerging Therapies

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:  

1. Explain recommendations from the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association guidelines for treatment of patients with hypertension.

2. Review lifestyle modifications that are recommended for the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease .

3. Summarize how future cardiovascular risk is estimated in primary prevention patients using the Pooled Cohort Equations and PREVENT calculator.

4. Formulate a care plan for patients with resistant hypertension based on the 2018 American Heart Association scientific statement.

5. Illustrate emerging pharmacotherapies for the treatment of hypertension.

6. Analyze guideline recommendations supporting the use of antiplatelet therapy for primary prevention patients.

7. Examine the evidence-based CV risk reduction benefits of medications used to treat overweight and obese patients.

8. Create treatment plans that reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Session 3: Thursday December 11, 2025 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

Honing in on Herbal Remedies: Review of Commonly Used Agents

1. Describe the FDA regulatory framework for determining safety, efficacy, and labeling of herbal products.

2. Identify common herbal supplements and their potential therapeutic uses, as well as their associated adverse effects and various interactions with prescription or other over-the-counter medications.

3. Evaluate the safety and effectiveness of herbal supplements using evidence-based resources and patient-specific factors within example cases

Overcoming Obesity: Update on Current and Future Pharmacotherapy Options

4. Describe appropriate patients who may benefit from obesity pharmacotherapy.

5. Evaluate common obesity medications with potential therapeutic uses as well as common and severe adverse reactions

6. Identify potential future obesity medication therapies that may offer advantages over current FDA-approved agents

Drug Therapy Jeopardy

7. Identify key laboratory values and parameters for monitoring drug therapy.

8. Describe key characteristics of common drug therapies.

9 Identify clinical pearls from various pharmacotherapy therapies.

In Person Conference Registration:  Conference registration includes workshop attendance, handouts, breakfast or refreshments during the meetings and documentation of continuing education credit. Spouses, family and friends are welcome and do not need to register unless they attend the educational sessions. Special seminar fees are available for non-professional accompanying persons who wish to attend one or more session (no special receipt, certification or credit issued).

Live Stream Webcast Registration:  Includes live conference streaming, access to online course materials and documentation of continuing education credit.

Requirements For Credit: Credit is dependent on verification of conference attendance by on-time check-in at each session and ULS receipt of completed evaluations. Credit is determined based on actual attendance on a per session basis, no partial credit is awarded.

Pharmacists: Please ensure that we have your NABP# and date of birth on file. ACPE does not allow us to provide you with paper statements of credit.

Statements of Credit:  Should you need a paper statement of credit, you can access that information via CPE Monitor. All other professionals: An applicable paper Statement of Credit will be issued upon receipt of your post-conference paperwork.

Note: Approximately one 15 minute break per 2.5 hours. Credited hours do not include breaks.

Hotel Information

RESORT FEE

The Resort Fee has been reduced to $35.00 (plus 13.38% tax) per room, per day, and will be added to the room rate. The Resort Fee provides guests with several of the most commonly requested additional services in one package price without being charged several individual fees. The items included in the fee are:

• Wireless Internet access for three devices (excluding the convention area)
• Fitness Center access for up to two adults
• Use of in-room safe
• Local and toll-free domestic (800) calls
• Complimentary parking
• Complimentary shuttle bus service to the “Las Vegas Strip” and Downtown Las Vegas

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES

The HOTEL’s check-in time is 3:00 PM. Check out time is 11:00 AM. All guests arriving before 3:00 P.M. will be accommodated as rooms become available. The HOTEL’s bell captain can arrange to check baggage for guests arriving early if rooms are unavailable and for guests attending functions on departure day. Photo identification will be required upon check in.

Attrition Surcharge

If you don't make reservations and stay at the hotel where University Learning Systems has reserved a block of rooms, you must add the attrition surcharge to the conference fee. Staying at hotel with an offer other than the ULS Group Code such as through a third party booking, still requires payment of the Attrition Surcharge.

2024/2025 Hotel Attrition Surcharge: $50

ULS will verify all rooming/cabin information with the hotel /travel agent and the hotel /travel agent has the right to release pertinent information to ULS for all attendees. No credit will be reported until the Attrition Surcharge is satisfied.

We apologize for any inconvenience. Unfortunately we have recently experienced a rash of attendees not utilizing the ULS designated hotel or travel agent causing ULS to incur significant penalties.
