Joseph Boullata PharmD, RPh, BCNSP, FASPEN, FACN

Joseph Boullata, PharmD is an internationally recognized expert in the field of nutrition support and nutritional pharmacotherapy. Regardless of their professional discipline, his teaching goal has always been to help develop clinicians who are well grounded in basic science and clinical evidence, who can use appropriate judgment in practice. This teaching is informed by his many years of clinical practice - most recently as a Pharmacy Specialist with the Clinical Nutrition Support Services at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Boullata received his Doctorate from the University of Maryland following degrees in Nutrition Science and in Pharmacy. He completed a post-doc fellowship in nutrition support at the University of Maryland Medical System, as well as a clinical residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. An investigator on several grant-funded research projects, he has performed clinical and bench research and published in the areas of nutrition, gastroenterology, and critical care, authoring over 70 chapters and papers in peer-reviewed journals.
