Dr Spergel is a Professor of Pediatrics and holder of Stuart Starr Chair of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and Chief of the Allergy Section at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and director of Center for Pediatric Eosinophilic Disorders. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University in Chemistry. He received his medical and graduate education at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

His clinical and post-graduate research training in Allergy and Immunology were completed at Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. Under the mentorship of Dr Geha, Dr Spergel identified a murine model of atopic march and atopic dermatitis. This model is currently being used for multiple atopic diseases including all aspects of food allergy. Dr Spergel is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. He is a fellow in American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI), American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, American Assoc of Pediatrics, Philadelphia College of Physicians and others.
