Jonathan M. Fenkel MD, FACP

Jonathan M. Fenkel, MD, recently joined the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and was named assistant professor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Fenkel specializes in liver disease, including viral hepatitis and liver transplantation, and will serve as director of the new Jefferson Hepatitis C Center.

Dr. Fenkel, a Philadelphia-area native, is a magna cum laude graduate of Jefferson Medical College and member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He earned his bachelor's degree cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he was a Benjamin Franklin Scholar. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center, a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and a fellowship in transplant hepatology, also at Jefferson.
