John T. Schousboe MD, PhD

Dr. John T. Schousboe is a health services researcher at HealthPartners Institute and past director of the bone densitometry center of Park Nicollet Clinic, a large integrated health care delivery system in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. He is a Past President of the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) and a Fellow of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR).

During a 20-year research career, he has been an author on over 250 peer-reviewed publications. His contributions to science include studies of the accuracy, prevalence, clinical impact, and cost-effectiveness of vertebral fracture assessment, identification and prognostic significance of abdominal aortic calcification on lateral spine bone density images, trabecular bone score in older men, and associations of fractures, frailty, physical performance, sleep disturbances, and cognitive impairment with total health care costs.
