John R P Tesser, MD, FACP, FACR, is Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of Clinical Education at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Phoenix, and Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor at Midwestern University, College of Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program in Glendale. In addition, he is a practicing rheumatologist and principal investigator at Arizona Arthritis & Rheumatology Associates in Phoenix. He is a graduate of Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, and University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in New York. He completed his internal medicine training at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix and completed a fellowship in rheumatology at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
He is a fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and American College of Physicians, and member of the American Society of Bone and Mineral Research and International Society of Clinical Densitometry. He has an extensive history of performing multiple clinical research studies including all forms of rheumatic diseases with an emphasis on rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and pain, and has been the principal investigator on more than 250 clinical research trials. In addition, he has authored more than 30 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine and Arthritis & Rheumatism.
