John C. Fox, MD, is the Chair and Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, Irvine School of Medicine. He is also the Director of the Ultrasound Fellowship and the Director of the Ultrasound Center at the UC Irvine School of Medicine. His biography reveals he attended Tufts Medical School, completed his residency in emergency medicine at UC Irvine, and undertook a fellowship in emergency ultrasound at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He joined the faculty at UC Irvine in 2001.

Dr. Fox focuses on integrating ultrasound into medical education, directing the 4-year ultrasound curriculum at the UC Irvine School of Medicine. He is dedicated to improving patient care, research, and education. Dr. Fox advocates for using technology and point-of-care imaging to enhance emergency care efficiency and reduce overcrowding. He is also known for his podcast and a TEDx talk titled "The Point-of-Care Ultrasound Revolution". He became Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine in 2019, having served as interim chair since 2017.
