John Ben Wilkinson BBA, BA, MD

Dr. Ben Wilkinson is the medical director of Provision CARES Proton Therapy and a physician with Particle Therapy Medical Group in Knoxville, TN. Dr. Wilkinson joined Provision from Willis-Knighton Cancer and Proton Therapy Center in Louisiana, where he was one of the first physicians to work with IBA’s ProteusOne proton therapy system. During this time, he served as an assistant professor of radiation oncology for LSU School of Medicine where he taught medical students, residents and fellows.

Dr. Wilkinson graduated from Texas Christian University and Texas A&M College of Medicine. Following his residency training at University of Maryland and William Beaumont Hospital in Michigan, he received specialized training in proton beam therapy at University of Pennsylvania and the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland.
