Joerg Herrmann, M.D., is a board-certified cardiologist who cares for patients with complex heart and vascular conditions, including those affected by cancer. He specializes in cardio-oncology, with a focus on preventing and treating heart complications related to cancer and its therapies to support recovery and long-term heart health and function.

His clinical expertise includes diagnosing and treating chest pain syndromes, including microvascular disease and endothelial dysfunction. He also performs advanced cardiac catheterization procedures, including coronary vasoreactivity testing and imaging. Dr. Herrmann provides care in both outpatient and inpatient settings, including for patients with acute and complex cardiovascular conditions.

He is the founder and director of the Cardio-Oncology Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on caring for patients with cancer and heart disease. He also has extensive experience managing coronary artery disease and microvascular angina, with a focus on improving patient outcomes and quality of life.

Dr. Herrmann has a particular interest in understanding how coronary artery disease develops and in improving blood vessel function in patients with atherosclerosis. He currently serves as research director for the Division of Ischemic Heart Disease and Critical Care.
