Joel M. Stein, MD, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Radiology in the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Stein is a neuroradiologist with particular expertise in brain tumor and epilepsy imaging. As a member of the Penn Epilepsy Center, he oversees functional MRI for pre-operative language lateralization as well as electrode localization for patients undergoing intracranial electroencephalography. He is a co-investigator on multiple clinical and pre-clinical studies including projects focused on nanoparticle agents targeted to tumors, glutamate chemical exchange saturation transfer imaging for seizure localization, and virtual resection for epilepsy surgery.
