Dr. Joanne Kwak-Kim is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Microbiology and Immunology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, as well as the Assistant Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Chicago Medical School of Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. Currently, she serves as Director of Rosalind Franklin University Health System’s Reproductive Medicine Center.

She has been a dedicated member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine since 1994.  Her keen interest lies in Reproductive Immunology, particularly recurrent pregnancy loss, which has been the focus of her research.  Her work in natural killer cell and Th1/Th2 immune responses in women with recurrent pregnancy losses and multiple implantation failures is well known.  The research work that she has done, which applies basic science techniques to clinical problems, is cutting-edge.

She has over 70 publications in peer-reviewed articles and textbooks.  She has mentored and continues to mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.  Dr. Kwak-Kim has lectured numerous times both nationally and internationally.  She is an associate editor of the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology and an editorial board member of many journals.
