Joan Jordan MS

Joan Jordan - the EUPATI Content Coordinator has made a lot of life changes since she was diagnosed with Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis in 2010. A Computer Science graduate from Trinity College Dublin, she had previously worked across the globe for over a decade on mobile telecommunications projects. She is most proud to have completed the EUPATI 2015-16 training course and has learned so much from her Alumni. Her special interests in medicine R&D are research, pharmacoeconomics and pharmacovigilance. Since her diagnosis, Joan has taken up many new challenges- including blogging. She is a regular contributor to the award-winning MS Ireland MS & Me blog team and a citizen reporter for www.shift.ms. Joan has spoken about EUPATI at many events and in 2017, she (along with one of her EUPATI Alumni) published the huManS book for people who have recently been diagnosed with MS. This is the book she wishes she had been given in 2010.
Joan wants to use her experience in I.T, her participation in a clinical trial, her communication skills, her time living abroad and most importantly- knowing what it is like to live with an illness for which there is currently no cure to help find one. She believes that the patient has an important role to play in this challenge and that different disease areas can work together to optimise progress. Nothing about us without us!
