Dr. Jesse Hall is a Professor of Medicine and Anesthesia and Critical Care, and former Section Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Chicago (UC). He earned his medical degree and completed his residency and fellowship at the University of Chicago, continuing on at this institution-building a career devoted to clinical investigation and clinical scholarship. His focus has been to evolve the critical care units as sites for exemplary patient care, classrooms for students of critical care, and laboratories for the study of the pathophysiology of and outcomes from critical illness. He is a senior author of a major textbook of critical care and has served in many roles for the journals and professional societies of the subspecialty of critical care medicine.
