Jennifer Carlquist, PA-C, works as a cardiology physician assistant with an emphasis on preventative cardiology and electrophysiology. She works a mix of inpatient and outpatient medicine. She formerly worked in Primary Care and Urgent Care at the beginning of her career.
Carlquist also works per diem in the Emergency Room and was one of the first PAs in the country to get her CAQ (Certificate Added Qualifications) in ER Medicine. She has been a PA for 15 years. Previously, she worked as a 911 paramedic for 13 years, starting in South Central Los Angeles, where she served as a Lead Field Training Officer.
Carlquist speaks nationally on EKGs, cardiology-related topics, and managing difficult patient interactions. She has published articles in JAAPA on patient satisfaction and cardiology-related topics. She enjoys painting and has been featured in the local newspaper, the Monterey County Weekly, for her heart-themed art.
